Homemade Pizza

Who doesn't love pizza? I do, that's for sure. I am trying to eat healthier despite all my junk-food-cravings, so I decided to try some homemade pizza. Less grease and more fun!

I put some Frank Sinatra Pandora music on, poured myself a glass of Cabernet, and I was ready!

I bought all my ingredients at Wal-Mart for less than $10. I bought two tomatoes, a can of pineapple, turkey pepperoni, pizza sauce, and mozzarella cheese. I had some vegetables already in my kitchen so I used left over green pepper and green onion for some toppings as well. I used the Great value brand pizza crust. It comes in a tube similar to what cinnamon rolls come in. It was cheap and delicious!

I had a lot of leftover ingredients which is great - pineapple for my lunch tomorrow, tomatoes for a salad, etc. Reuse, reuse reuse!!

Easy steps for a perfect pizza:

  1. Spray your pan.
  2. Spread your dough out and form into a circle.
  3. Cover dough in pizza sauce.
  4. Add a light layer of mozzarella cheese.
  5. Add a few toppings.
  6. Add a heavier layer of cheese.
  7. More toppings!
  8. Top it off with a light layer of cheese.
  9. Bake for 20 minutes (more or less depending on how many toppings you added)
  10. Enjoy!

Such a quick meal. We enjoyed our pepperoni, pineapple, tomato, onion, green pepper, cheese pizza! It even got the seal of approval from Luke - the toughest critic out there.
